So, you've watched an Andrew Huberman podcast, you're listening to the Huberman Labs podcast or have seen a clip of him on socials and now you're here looking for the good stuff. We'll run you through what supplements Andrew Huberman recommends every person should take to live their most optimized life.

Who is Andrew Huberman?

Andrew Huberman has become a prolific name in neuroscience over the last few years. He's a leading neuroscientist and professor at Stanford university who studies the connection between behavior, emotion and health. A big part of this is understanding how nutrient deficiencies can effect your everyday life and which ones we all need to live our best lives.

Huberman's work focuses on understanding the fundamental principles of visual system function, including topics such as visual perception, neural development, and neuroplasticity. He has made significant contributions to our understanding of how the brain processes visual information and adapts to changes in the environment.

Huberman's research has implications for developing therapeutic approaches to treat visual disorders and promote neural repair. His work has gained recognition in the scientific community, and he is considered a leading expert in his field. We've got his top 5 below supplement recommendations below.

Andrew Huberman's Recommended Supplements

1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Andrew Huberman recommends omega-3 supplements as one of the most important supplements for brain health. He believes that most people are deficient, which affects brain function.

Omega-3s affect the brain's ability to communicate properly and are critical for brain cell health. They also have the added benefit of being anti-inflammatory and can help protect you from degenerative brain diseases.

2. Vitamin D

He talks about Vitamind D quite a lot, especially in Huberman's daily morning routine. Vitamin D has surprisingly high rates of deficiency.

It's crucial for immune function, brain health and bone health. It plays a massive role in regulating your mood and the production of neurotransmitters.

So if you're rarely out in the sun, it's definitely a great idea to supplement with Vitamin D.

3. Magnesium

This one's especially important for all the gym guys and girls. If you're training hard, magnesium will help to restore your muscle function. Huberman states that magnesium supplements are incredibly beneficial if you're feeling stressed or anxious. It can also help with your sleep quality and cognitive function.

He specifically recommends taking Magnesium Citrate and Magnesium Glycerinate, as they're the purest and most effective forms.

4. B Vitamins

Huberman recommends taking a comprehensive B-complex supplement that contains all 8 essential vitamins. Each of these vitamins play a different role in contributing to your overall energy, metabolism and brain function.

He also believes that they may help to reduce depression and improve your mood.

5. Curcumin

This one is a little more surprising and unknown. Huberman always stresses how important it is to reduce inflammation in the brain. This is exactly what Circumin does.

Curcumin (found in turmeric) has been an ancient medicine for thousands of years. This powerful anti-inflammatory will help improve cognitive function. It's also recommended for digestive issues, liver problems or people who suffer from arthritis.

Final Thoughts

If you're as big of a fan of Huberman as I am you'll probably try the supplement routine above. I've been consistent with it for about a month now and I do notice that I feel a little less brain foggy. Of course, it's important to note that these supplements won't do it all, it needs to be part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

If you feel like you have any severe deficiencies, go see your doctor and get that needle you've been avoiding.
